Choose a 50 roses bouquet when you want a generous gift that is easier to carry and place. Choose a 100 roses bouquet when the flowers should be the main event. Both can suit birthdays, anniversaries and romantic surprises; the best choice depends on the recipient, the setting and the design.
Before you decide, compare the selected stem count, the rose variety and the presentation. A photograph and a starting price do not always describe the exact size you are ordering.
50 vs. 100 roses at a glance
| What matters | 50 roses | 100 roses |
|---|---|---|
| The gift | A substantial bouquet for a personal celebration | A larger statement when flowers are the centerpiece of the surprise |
| Handling | Usually easier to carry than a comparable 100-stem design | Plan the handover and a suitable place to display it |
| Budget | Usually lower for the same rose variety and presentation | More flowers, with the final price also depending on design and container |
| Before ordering | Confirm 50 stems and whether a vase is included | Confirm 100 stems and the arrangement’s display requirements |
How big is a 50-rose bouquet?
Fifty roses create a full floral gift, but there is no single diameter that describes every 50-rose bouquet. Large, open blooms occupy more space than tightly closed buds. Longer stems change the height, while a wide paper wrap can make the outline look larger without adding flowers.

For a birthday gift, consider the recipient’s favorite colors before increasing the count. A mixed pink and purple design can feel more personal than a larger bouquet in a color they would not choose. For an anniversary dinner, think about where the flowers will go while you eat: a large wrapped bouquet needs somewhere to rest and a suitable vase afterward.
How big is a 100-rose bouquet?
A hundred roses give you twice the stems of a 50-rose bouquet, but not necessarily twice the width. The arrangement can be packed more closely, shaped differently or made with a different variety. Do not estimate its dimensions from stem count alone.

These are two different designs, photographed separately—not a same-scale size comparison. Use the images to compare color and presentation. If exact dimensions matter for a table, a car journey or a planned surprise, ask us about the chosen arrangement.
For a proposal or milestone anniversary, decide where the bouquet will be received before choosing 100 stems. A home delivery can avoid the recipient having to carry the flowers through the rest of an evening. For a hotel surprise, check the recipient’s name and the hotel’s delivery arrangements.
Why does the price of 50 or 100 roses vary?
Compare like with like: rose variety, stem length, flower count, wrapping, included vase or box, and delivery. A garden rose design and a standard rose bouquet can have different prices even with the same number of stems.
Check the selected size, not just the “Starting at” price. Some designs in our collections offer several sizes. The starting price may belong to 12 or 25 stems. Open the product, select 50 or 100 stems, then review the updated price and what is included. A product appearing in a collection is not enough to establish its flower count.
Wrapped roses, a flower box or a basket?
A wrapped bouquet suits a handover where the recipient can put the flowers in water soon afterward. For a gift that will be displayed in its container, compare our flower box arrangements and check each product’s contents and care instructions. Do not assume a vase comes with every bouquet.
If you want a large gift but are open to other flowers, explore large flower bouquets. Shape, flower selection and color can matter as much as a round number of roses.

Questions before choosing your roses
Is 50 roses enough for an anniversary?
Yes. Fifty roses can make a generous anniversary gift. Choose the colors and presentation around your partner’s taste; the number of flowers does not measure the meaning of the occasion.
Should I choose 100 roses for a birthday?
Choose 100 if the recipient enjoys large floral gifts and has room to display them. Choose 50 if carrying or placing the bouquet is a bigger consideration. Either count can work for a birthday.
Will 100 roses last longer than 50?
More stems do not guarantee a longer vase life. Freshness, flower variety, hydration and the conditions in the room matter. Follow the care instructions supplied with your arrangement.
Can I choose a color other than red?
Yes—our rose collections include other colors and mixed designs. Check the individual product’s color and stem-count options before ordering, or contact the shop about your preferred combination.
